TOUGH BREAK
FOR
ARMILLAS
Nacho Armillas’ 2017 world and
European title aspirations have been
dashed after breaking his left leg at
the opening round of the UIM-ABP
European Continental Championship
in Zadar on the final day.
The Spanish ace crashed heavily on
lap 6 during the final Moto in Ski GP1,
suffering a triple break to his [left]
femur and was taken to hospital to be
operated on.
It was a crushing blow for Armillas,
who earlier in the day completed the
perfect start to the defence of his
GP2 title, sealing overall victory with
maximum points after rival Kevin
Reiterer was disqualified for a non-
conforming Ski.
