TOUGH BREAK FOR ARMILLAS AFTERWINNING

SKI GP2

Nacho Armillas’ 2017World and European title aspirations were dashed

after breaking his left leg on the final day.

The Spanish ace crashed heavily on lap 6 during the final Moto in Ski GP1,

suffering a triple break to his [left] femur and was taken to hospital to be

operated on.

It was a crushing blow for Armillas, who earlier [on the Sunday]

completed the perfect start to the defence of his GP2 title, sealing overall

victory with maximum points after rival Kevin Reiterer was disqualified

for a non-conforming Ski. Second place went to Svae Anderssen, with

Estonian rider Marten Manni in third.

BRILLIANT BORGSTROM TOP IN SKI LADIES

Jonna Brogrstom sent a clear message to her world and European rivals

that she very much intends to be in the fight for titles this year after

producing a brilliant string of performances to take overall victory in the

opening round.
