Portugal and China face a hectic
season ahead in this year’s UIM-
ABP Aquabike Circuit, Endurance
and Offshore Championships.
With the rescheduling of the
UIM-ABP European Continental
Endurance Championship, due to take place in Portimao, Portugal
on 28-30 April, to the 27-29 October the Aquabike season now
kicks off in Croatia.
Two new venues host the this year’s Circuit Championship for
Runabout GP1, 2 and 4, Ski GP1 and 2, Ski Juniors and Freestyle on
19-21 May in Zadar, Croatia and then heading north to the Douro
region in Portugal on 23-25 June.
The European rounds are as hotly contested and renowned for
huge rider numbers and a gathering of big stars; in Runabout GP1
the man to try to dethrone is France’s four-time and defending
champion Jeremy Perez, with Dane Marcus Jorgensen carding a
perfect score last season to win GP2.
In Ski GP1 the rivalry between champion Kevin Reiterer, Stian
Schjetlein, Jeremy Poret and Nacho Armillas looks set to continue,
Armillas also looking to defend his GP 2 title, with Emma-Nellie
Ortendahl the hot favourite in the Ladies division and it is rumoured
that she may well take on the men as well.
